Membership dues are $15.00 per calendar year, payable before January 1st of each year and may include an additional member of the family. As part of your membership you will receive one copy per family of the Society's quarterly magazine, PIONEER TRAILS, and a monthly newsletter. The Society meets in the 3rd floor auditorium of the Linn-Henley Research Library (part of the Birmingham Public Library) in downtown Birmingham.  The meetings are held on the 4th Saturday of the month, except for November and December (see GUEST SPEAKERS below for details), from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

January 24th - Jim Anderson will discuss "a Murder in Jefferson County", as found in the Jefferson County court records for the Loose Papers Project.

February 28th - Gary Gerlach will discuss"Great Finds in the Jefferson County Loose Paper Project".

March 21st - .NOTE: This meeting is on the 3rd Saturday due to a scheduling conflict with the Library.   50th Birthday Celebration of our Society.  Please come and join us for the festivities.

April 25th - Ann Gilbert will be discussing "Deaths in Birmingham".

May 23rd - A Walking Tour TO BE DETERMINED don’t forget to wear your walking shoes!

June 27th - Kermitt Dooley will be discussing Families in Gardendale, AL.

August 22nd - Bill Clement, will present The Battle of Kings Mountain.

September 26th - BGS Member Mary Taylor will present a program on The Hillman Family.

October 24th - No guest speaker. Annual Genealogical Fair.

November - The society does not meet in November.

December 12th - No guest speaker. Annual Tea, Come and join us for a relaxing and enjoyable social event.
